National Service Scheme(NSS) (Unit No. 210)

The college has a unit of the National Service Scheme (Unit No. 210) which aims at training members in the spirit of service and promoting opportunities for the development of character, leadership and spirit of service among volunteers. Students are encouraged to take up membership and profit by NSS certificate holders who get opportunities for service activities. NSS certificate holders get weightage marks for admission to higher courses and also grace marks N.S.S was started to promote social consciousness and a sense of responsibility as well as a sense of discipline and dignity of labour among students. The scheme utilizes the leisure time of students in various items of social service which not only help the community but also provides an opportunity for the students to understand social conditions. The ultimate aim "has been to develop the personality of students through community service". N.S.S programmes are designed to interact with local needs and priorities.
