Introduction

Healthy and social-emotional relationships enhance the development of student competencies and sense of belonging and overall development of students. Mentoring is a learning relationship between students and teachers who collaborate and share mutual responsibility and accountability which provides an opportunity for mutual growth & development. NCST has a mentoring system in the college to establish a meaningful relationship between students and teachers thereby enhancing the performance and growth of students. Mentoring support is provided to students in academic and co-curricular activities and for emotional support for students.

Objectives/Goals
Short Term
  • To enhance student relationships with teachers and the institute and make them feel a part of the NCST family
  • To adopt active learning and experiential learning strategies
  • To improve discipline, regularity and punctuality of students through counselling sessions and minimize students drop out rate
  • To identify and understand the status of slow learners and encourage learning
  • To help troubled students cope with academic, extra-academic and personal problems.
  • Providing a platform for grievances
  • Inculcate leadership qualities in the faculty of the institute
Long term
  • To improve the learning outcomes of students and get better rankings in their academic, professional and personal life.
  • To provide an additional point of contact for the students to gain knowledge of the academic system, the admission process, and campus resources in a structured mentor-mentee format.
  • To encourage the development of an inclusive, vibrant, and supportive culture.
