

Post Visit Report: Tribal Exposure Programme – BA Sociology
On 24 October 2025, theV Semester BA Sociology students of NCST Karuvarakundu embarked on an insightful field visit to Nedungayam, Nilambur, as part of their academic curriculum.
The tribal exposure programme was designed to deepen students’ understanding of indigenous communities through direct engagement and observation.
Guided by faculty members Nishana and Mubashir, the visit offered a rich learning experience that bridged theoretical knowledge with practical exposure. Students explored tribal social structures, cultural practices, and environmental contexts, enhancing their awareness of social status and diversity.
The programme also fostered key academic and interpersonal skills, including:
Research aptitude and field documentation
Teamwork and social interaction
This immersive experience not only strengthened students’ sociological perspectives but also encouraged reflective learning and collaborative inquiry.

Department of Sociology to Host Workshop on ‘Unmute Yourself: Speak With Confidence’
The Department of Sociology is set to organize a workshop titled ‘Unmute Yourself: Speak With Confidence’, a specialised programme aimed at enhancing the communication skills of department students.
The workshop is scheduled for April 21, 2025, at 10:00 AM in the Seminar Hall.RP, Prof. Abdula Vasih, will lead this interactive session, who will provide expert guidance on effective speaking techniques, confidence-building strategies, and overcoming communication barriers.
Through engaging discussions and practical exercises, students will gain valuable skills to articulate their thoughts clearly and confidently in academic and professional settings.
