    Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Camp

The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit No. 210 of Najath College of Science and Technology, Karuvarakundu, in association with the Kerala Health Department and IQAC, organised a Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Camp on 9 December 2025 at the college seminar hall. The program began at 10:00 a.m. with health screening for faculty, staff, and NSS volunteers, focusing on blood pressure and blood sugar levels.

This was followed by an awareness session led by Ms Sunumol, Junior Health Inspector, Karuvarakundu, who highlighted the causes, prevention, and management of major NCDs such as hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular disorders. Her presentation emphasised lifestyle modification, early detection, and regular health check ups as vital measures for disease prevention. The event opened with a welcome address by Mr Haneefa MK, Programme Officer, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Muhammed Navas KK, Secretary.

The camp was coordinated by the NSS team along with ASHA workers, ensuring smooth execution and active participation. The initiative proved highly beneficial, fostering greater health awareness and encouraging the college community to adopt healthier habits, which reflected the NSS unit’s commitment to social responsibility and well-being.
