Electoral Literacy Club

The Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) at Najath College of Science & Technology, Karuvarakundu, is a vibrant platform dedicated to fostering informed, responsible, and participatory citizenship among students. Anchored in the vision of the Election Commission of India, the club aims to strengthen the culture of electoral awareness and democratic engagement, especially among first-time and future voters.
Through a blend of interactive activities, simulations, and awareness campaigns, the ELC sensitises students to their electoral rights and responsibilities. It provides hands-on experience with voter registration, ethical voting, and the functioning of democratic institutions.

The club encourages critical thinking, civic dialogue, and active participation, empowering students to become thoughtful contributors to India’s democratic fabric. By sparking curiosity and fostering discussion, the Electoral Literacy Club nurtures a generation that not only understands the value of voting but also upholds the principles of transparency, inclusivity, and civic duty. Activities include mock elections, poster campaigns, quizzes, debates, and outreach programmes—each designed to make democracy a lived experience on campus.
